Afforestation

Afforestation in DK has been supported financially by the State/EU since 1998 and the forest established has mainly been broadleaved forest and with a low CO2-sequestration capacity. With the increasing focus on climate-robust forests and the production of timber for the construction industry, there will soon be a need for afforestation, primarily with conifers.

The aim of this action is therefore to produce a manual for afforestation of conifer-dominated forest using close to nature methods, and to establish afforestation according to the manual on at least 3 sites including in total app. 85 ha in DK.
